The Golden Compass

There is a new fantasy movie in town showing now which I want to watch today (or most probably by this month..heh!) It is titled The Golden Compass, an adaptation by a novel by the same title (also titled Northern Lights in U.K versions) written by the British novelist Philip Pullman. The novel won the Carnegie Medal for children’s fiction in the UK in 1995, and in 2007 it was selected by judges of the Carnegie Medal as one of the ten most important children’s novels of the past 70 years.

I like most of the actors in it like Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, and of course to see the new girl, Dakota Blue Richards acting in her first blockbuster movie. With a budget as big as $180 million, I hope this new movie released by New Line Cinema won’t be a disappointment.
