Do you have pets? If you do, why do you want to keep pet? I used to wonder the same thing too before I had my varieties of pets.
I found few articles on websites that share the benefits of having pets. I will share some of the points here for us to ponder. Most of the lengthy benefits of having pets you can read here.
I like this part about how we can develop empathy and nurturing skills if we take care of our pets.
And the best part is this, quoting from the website:
“Animals have a way of accepting without qualification.
They don’t care how a person looks or what they say. (Have you ever heard of your dog deciding to go to your neighbors because he or she feels it is better out there?)
An animal’s acceptance is nonjudgmental, forgiving, and uncomplicated by the psychological games people often play. They accept you the way you are.”
Personally I feel that having a pet is good for the benefit of companionship. Your pet are always there, you can talk to them and they will listen. They never betray a secret and never talk back.
If you never have any pet, give it a try. You can be a better person just by taking care and loving your pet.
