I like this issue, not that I like people to be trapped in credit card debts. I wish they don’t go to where I’ve been – welcome to hell of credit card trap.
When I first started working, I never bother to look for best credit cards deals. Everyone after their first 3 months working seemed to be having their own credit card. So why bother to look for best deals. You just take whatever the sales person offer you. Looking back I should have done a thorough credit card comparison in the first place.
Within a year, I have 6 credit cards and my excessive shopping habits brought me to the brink of depression. Most of the credit limit have been reached and all my pay every month went to paying the minimum. I should have known better than to destruct myself that way.
Now that I’m wiser I’m thinking of doing 0% balance transfer on the existing credit cards I have. Whenever I receive the credit cards statements every month, I feel a complete lost looking at the amount of finance charges (the interest) the banks charge me. I have stopped using some of the cards (yes, they have reached their credit limit) but when you think back how much you can save if you don’t have the interest, I should have educate myself financially long time ago.
I think in my country there is no such thing like cash back credit cards, where the credit card company will deposit certain amount of cash provided that you pay all your credit card bills on time and pay them in full. I think it is a good idea for people to realize that they have to spend within their means and not think that credit card is an easy way to borrow money. In short terms maybe it will be a great help to start out your life but if you go on living on your credit cards limits, you will be in their trap forever.
Good financial education is the way to go, get to know what the credit card company has to offer before you sign the application form. ![]()
